Mechanic

Bear Creek Golf Club has an opening for mechanic who can produce top quality diagnoses, maintenance and repairs. Must have experience, either as a golf course or automotive mechanic. Duties include performing maintenance on golf course equipment, tractors, mowers, and utility vehicles as well as electrical and hydraulic work. Candidate must be a motivated, self-starting individual. We are a family oriented company that has been in business for over 20 years in Grande Prairie. We want to continue growing the best team in the business, with people who enjoy working together to provide high quality service to our members and guests

Job Purpose:

Responsible for all equipment maintenance and repairs of all golf course and all non-guest carrying vehicles. Responsible for making major and minor repairs on a variety of gasoline, diesel and electric powered equipment.

Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for administrative duties in relation to operation of shop including vehicle record maintenance, inventory control, safety checklists for equipment.

Irrigation/Lawn Foreman

The Bear Creek Golf Club and Double R Golf and Turf is accepting applications for the Irrigation/Lawn Foreman position.   We are an 18 hole, mature, club located on the northern boundary of the City of Grande Prairie, Alberta.  Double R Golf and Turf is a growing company with contracts in the Grande Prairie region. Our vision is to be recognized for quality, attention to detail, creativity and efficient delivery of professional landscape, irrigation and landscape management services. Our employees are the key to our success. We are searching for an energetic self-starter with a keen eye for detail. Position can be ideal for either a young to middle aged person with a good work ethic wanting to start a career in the golf industry or can be structured for a semi retired person  

Qualifications:

Valid Class 5 driver's license
Able to operate a Skid Steer
        Able to manage and give clear, concise direction to daily staff
        Knowledge of irrigations systems is desirable but not necessary
               Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of lawn maintenance and landscaping equipment is desirable but not necessary
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of golf course equipment is desirable but not necessary.

  Duties:
        Oversee and participate in the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system and new residential irrigation installations
        Oversee and participate in the operation and maintenance of all turf areas and residential lawn maintenance

Perform landscaping work including lawn maintenance; sod, tree, shrub and flower installation and related work
        Working within the club's Occupational Health and Safety policies
      Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and vehicles

Maintenance Staff

Bear Creek Golf Club and Double R Golf and Turf has openings for Maintenance Staff. Individuals who takes pride in their work with the ability to successfully contribute to a progressive team environment 

 
Duties:
To perform the day-to-day operations of the Bear Creek Golf Club including 
Irrigation repairs, mowing and weedeating     
Involvement with all aspects of golf course & equipment maintenance

 Participate in the operation and maintenance of all turf areas, residential lawn maintenance and 
residential irrigation installations
Positive attitude with desire to work in a flexible work environment
Enjoys the outdoors and has an interest in the game of golf.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to get along easily with others and function as a

Must be able to follow direction and work independently, 
Valid drivers license

Golf Shop/Event Attendants

 Sales Coordinator

The Bear Creek Golf Club is accepting applications for our Sales Coordinator position.  We are an 18 hole, mature club located on the northern boundary of the City of Grande Prairie, Alberta.  We are searching for an energetic self-starter with a keen eye for detail. 
With a new 250 seat Event Center open for the 2016 season, we require a sales person to sell and promote new and existing events in the newest and best Tournament and Banquet Facility in Grande Prairie. This position will report directly to the General Manager, and work closely with the Events Coordinator and Clubhouse Manager.

The right candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in sales, and be the kind of person who faces challenges head on and loves to expand their knowledge and expertise.

 Qualifications:
Valid Class 5 driver's license

Able to manage and give clear, concise direction to a daily staff & work with minimal supervision

Min 2 years of selling experience

 Honest, reliable, trustworthy and self-motivated
 
Good understanding of projections and reporting
 
Outstanding communication skills

 Duties:
Sell and Promote Bear Creek Golf Club

Includes golf,  banquets, meetings and weddings and Christmas/Birthday parties

Sell and promote Bear Creek Tournaments

Emailing and delivering tournament packages, and monthly follow ups

Sell Bear Creek Sponsorship/Advertising

Includes selling hole signs, cart signs, driving range signs as well as dropping off invoices and green fee passes

Coordinate golf tournaments with tournament coordinator around banquets, weddings, parties etc

COOKS POSITION

The Cook is responsible for the day to day cooking and prep work for the kitchen facility. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a team environment. This position will report directly to the Clubhouse Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare & Serve food & beverages
Plan and prepare meal and specials for all events
Maintain professional appearance (staff uniforms) & demeanor at all times
Oversee the ordering/purchasing and inventory of kitchen supplies and food; monitor daily the food & beverage facility to ensure the quality of food & timeliness of service.
Daily cleaning, vacuuming, mopping & garbage removal of kitchen,
Ensure the food & beverage department runs smoothly, profitably, efficiently and within the guidelines of the law & service standards.
Booking tee times & checking in customers for golf course & RV Park
